Day 150 - Technical Issues
October 5, 2009 – 5:01 amI just spoke with Chris on the phone and they are both well. They’re on the sea anchor at the moment and expect the winds to be against them for the next few days before some more favourable weather comes along again.
There’s something up with their data link which Chris isn’t sure he can fix, but he’s working on it. If that fails we’ll try to come up with some other means of getting mesages to everyone. They still have voice comms at least, and they are receiving sms messages (sent through the “contact the crew” link at the top of this page).
Since being on the sea anchor they’ve slept a lot, played a bit of Doom on the computer, and are now playing a draughts tournament. Mick appears to have the upper hand here, with 2 victories and 1 draw!

Chris & Mick travelled 12.5 miles South-South-East (heading 163.6°) on day 150
They ended 819.7 miles from San Francisco (4.7 miles closer than yesterday)
They covered miles 4257 to 4262 of the trip
Their average pace so far has been 28.4 miles/day towards San Francisco
They have 28.8 days remaining at this rate, so would arrive in San Francisco on 2 Nov 2009
Their target heading for the shortest route to San Francisco is East (heading 95.3°)

A big thankyou to Richard for keeping us up to date and putting our minds at rest - and also to Margaret - we couldn’t do without you Richard!
Hope the weather improves soon out there with Chris and Mick on Bo.

The class has voted that Monty is the most superior/wierdest. Matthew, who likes free gifts as is too lazy to work for them himself, wants to know if he can have your boat when you are finsihed with it?
The class are keenly watching your progress and are willing you to victory. Good luck!

Rich, do Mclaren know that you do more work on this blog than you do on Lewis’ car?

Didn’t mean that to sound ungrateful, thanks Rich. Maybe you’ll find the time around working on this blog to fix that KERS.
