Day 137 - Dark Clouds Ahead
September 22, 2009 – 12:48 pmPower’s in short supply today as we charge up with pretty much everything turned off ahead of a couple of days of miserable weather (ie cloud and rain). The Blog may be one of the casualties I’m afraid, hence the short post today too.
No dramas with the power, purely precautionary as we aclimatise to….. More wintery conditions. Will be back on line in due course with normal service resumed. For now, making great progress just where we need to go (Yes we are deliberately heading North Eastish).
Morale as ever high, but not as high as our ‘Big Hair…..’ Looking forward to an exciting finish to an incredible voyage in the next few weeks, thanks for all your support.

You mean these posts have been seen as support?
By Biff on Sep 22, 2009
if you arrive on the 31st October as planned - you’ve not got long to think about your halloween costumes…!?!?!?!
By kate on Sep 22, 2009
Having seen the more recent photos, I’m not sure they’ll need costumes…

Biff, if these messages have been interpreted as support we need to significantly increase the quality of abuse.

By the way when did North Eastish become a point on the compass? North, yes, East, yes North North East, yes, East North East, yes… but North Eastish?
It is now obvious that since you left Japan it is just chance that has got you within 1000nm of SF, not expert navigation as you led me to beleive it would be at your leaving do.
By Biff on Sep 22, 2009
Any news of those letters that some of us sent you out with Chris?
Good progress.
Press on.

Hi Chris and Mick - goodness me, Biff is in bullish mood today! And now I suppose the word “bullish” will be criticised too! Hey-hoh.
Hope the weather does not get tooooo wet over the next few days, but then you are surrounded by a huge amount of that salty wet water anyhow! Keeeeeeep well wrapped up, keeeeeeep rowing and keeeeeeeep safe.
By Sue from Cornwall on Sep 22, 2009
Keep safe guys and be strong…Kisses

No using the hair dryer then.
By Laser.Beam on Sep 22, 2009
If the weather’s that crappy, then why don’t you head back to Japan? I hear it’s pretty nice there at the moment.

Best of luck!
Hope you get nice warm-fall weather soon!

Mick i was sat in my machine at work today when Andy Williams came on singing
Moon River and instantly thought of you both because you are certainly crossing her in style, The vivaldi boys will be on Stand By to get well and truly Dawson-ed ,so save enough power to pump a bit of Dean Martin out.
Hats off to you both and remember ,moments in time

Sue, I would never dare criticise anything you write after having spent a great week in your wonderful county drinking ale and eating pasties! Also I barely know and it would be rude!
Chris however, well I’ve known him for years, and I met Mick once too, so they are fair game. so on that note, Chris, stop reading this drivel and get rowing. Lazy git.
By Biff on Sep 22, 2009
Ironically Biff, after your assurance that you are too polite to offend S from C on the grounds that S from C, in the words of Dad Martin, is not a smashing lass of your acquaintance (smashing I’m sure, of Biff’s acquiantance I understand not) you have by referring to, sweepingly, this blog as drivel. Thereby offending everyone, including aforementioned S from C, by referring to their posts as drivel.
I’ve confused myself now.
Anyhow, basically Biff, in trying to be nice you’ve offended everyone so just continue being yourself; horrible.
By Boing Boing on Sep 22, 2009
Oh well said Boing Boing! Don’t worry about being confused - we’re all confused now anyhow! And thank you Biff for plugging Cornwall so eloquently.
Meanwhile, I will continue saying nice things to Chris and Mick, ‘cos I think they are an amazing duo, even though I have met Chris (briefly), but not had the pleasure of meeting Mick. So, C and M - keeeeeeeep smiling (despite the inclement weather), keeeeeeeep rowing and please keeeeeeeeep safe. Toodle pip.

Power cuts, blog being suspended, Biff been chewing wasps or lemons? What is the world coming to, and where exactly is Eastish, is that like Westish?
Chris and Mick, row a bit quicker if you please, then you will be back in time for Trafalgar Day 21st October to celebrate the victory won by Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson’s British fleet over the combined French and Spanish fleets at the Battle of Trafalgar on October 21, 1805.
a day later and
22 October 2009 - International Stammering D D D D Day
Stay safe, row a bit more …
By Dizzie Blonde on Sep 22, 2009
S from C; you’ve used the words “pleasure of meeting” and “Mick” in the same sentence, in fact adjoining.
Is there another Mick we don’t know about?
By Typical Lightweight Matelot on Sep 23, 2009
TLM, that’s not too dissimilar to using “Biff” & “eloquent”
